A lot of organisations talk the talk but when it comes to valuing and respecting the experience, insights and knowledge of patients they fail miserably. Sitting on committees or speaking at conferences, the patient has to take leave from their day job or their other commitments and are usually not remunerated for travel costs let alone their time.
